Abacos Island - Bahamas

In August of 2018, we flew down to Treasure Cay on Abacos Island in the Bahamas.  One of Trina's work colleagues had been suggesting we go for a long time so we went and were not disappointed. The beach is very pristine with little or no wave activity.  There was hardly anyone on this stretch of beach while we were there.   In Treasure Cay, the closed in resort we stayed, everyone gets around on golf carts.  There is a grocery and liquor store close by and a few good beach type eateries.  This is a great place to go "get away from it all".  There's not much else to do as far as activities.  The local people are very friendly and welcoming.  Be aware that prices for food and drink are going to be more expensive.  We came back the next spring in 2019 with the Griffin family and did it all over agin. The kids loved it and so did Patrick and Josey.  Up until the island was destroyed by Hurricane Dorian in August of 2019, it was the nicest beach we have seen in our travels.

Delta still has one direct flight a day into Marsh Harbor.
