The 1st two stops on our July 2014 Adriatic cruise with Silverseas were the Greek islands of Katakalon and Corfu.  We flew into Athens a day early to get "un-jetlagged" and rest.  Our sightseeing day in Athens (the other one) was one of the hottest days of the year at 104 degrees.  There wasn't much of an appetite to walk around looking at ancient artifacts.   Our choices to see things centered around whether or not the place had air conditioning.  Our first cruise stop was Katakalon, where we toured the site of the first olympics.  The next day we we sailed up the coast to the island of Corfu where we got to walk around a bit, but honestly, there wasn't much to see.  We spent more time back on the ship (shown above).
