We have been to Aruba seven times, first going in 2001 taking the whole family.  We went back in 2005 following the Natalie Holloway disappearance because of deeply discounted hotel rooms and airfare to coax the tourists back.  We returned in 2007, 2008, and 2009 each time on Labor Day Weekend.  We recently went in 2016 and just last December.  We went because of the beaches, the weather, and it was too far south to be hit by hurricanes.  Delta has  one flight a day to Oranjestad, the capitol, and most of the time, we could use frequent flyer miles. Having been to Abacos and Turks and Caicos, with superior beaches, we probably have been to Aruba for the last time.  It is getting too crowded and the prices have gone back up to being on the expensive side.
