Virgin Islands - Sailing Trip
In July of 2019, Nana, Poppy, Uncle Don & Aunt Jennifer took Sarah Kate and her friend, Maddie, down to the BVI for a 7 day sailing trip. Don captained our chartered sailboat in and around Tortola, Jost Van Dyke and some assorted smaller islands. We slept on the boat, had great weather, good places to swim and snorkel, and the girls had a great time. We had some great island seafood at night at some of the classic island eateries, such as Foxy's, Corsairs, and the Soggy Dollar. To get there, you have to fly to Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas and then take an hour ride on a "water taxi" to Roadtown, where the marinas are located. Unless you have someone to captain the boat, a weeks charter with captain can get pricey. But it's a very memorable experience, well worth the money.
