Craig & Trina's Travel Log
San Francisco
In August of 1998, we flew out to San Francisco for a Thursday to Sunday long weekend. We rented a car and on Friday morning , drove across the Golden Gate Bridge (shown at right), up through wine country and back down stopping to go through the Muir Woods Redwood Forest. On Saturday, we just walked around, taking the cable cars, riding through Chinatown, and checking out the wharf. In the afternoon, we took the car out to drive around and ended up on the Alcatraz tour. I did remember us getting to stand in line/eat lunch at the Swan Oyster Depot, the "hottest ticket" in SF with the locals.
Funny story: On the flight out, the weather was so bad we had to land in Oakland and take a bus over to the SF airport to get our luggage. The day we flew home was when a huge tornado came through just missing our house.
