Craig & Trina's Travel Log
Costa Rica
In April of 2013, we flew down to Costa Rica for another one of our long weekends. We stayed at the Arenas Del Mar Beach Resort in the Manuel Antonio National Park (Pacific side). We were on the beach but still in the rainforest. We took a tour of San Jose, the capitol city, but the highlight of the trip was the jungle zipline experience. We had to walk 45 minutes up a trail climbing up to the top of a mountain and then spending the next 30 minutes zip lining down. It was very heart stopping as well as exhilarating. We also took a drive up to Arenal National Park to the the country's most active volcano. The views of the ocean on the way up were awesome. The beach (shown above) was nice except the waves were too rough to actually get in the ocean. My recollection was that Americans were welcomed and that everywhere we went seemed safe and that prices were very reasonable.
Delta runs two flights a day (a little over 4 hrs) to San Jose, morning and night both ways.
