Craig & Trina's Travel Log
Pacific Coast Highway
In August of 2010, we flew out to San Francisco, rented a red Mustang convertible and drove down to Los Angeles on U.S. 1, the Pacific Coast Highway. We spent the first night in San Francisco and the next morning headed South. We traveled around Monterrey by stopping to eat lunch at Cannery Row in the town of Monterrey. My only disappointment was wanting to see the Pebble Beach Golf course, but it was closed for a car show. We continued south through Carmel (possibly the most liberal city in America). The scenery was very breathtaking all the way down and we stopped for the night in San Luis Obispo. On Saturday, we stopped in Santa Barbara for lunch, drove through Malibu, and Ventura eventually ending up in Beverly Hills. I finally got to take the top down on the Mustang to drive down Rodeo Drive. That lasted about 3 minutes because of the smog. That had been one of my dreams to do as an adult. We spent the night at an airport hotel by LAX and flew home on Sunday. Check one off the bucket list.
Good information for planning a PCH trip
