Craig & Trina's Travel Log
Quebec
In October of 2018, we took a 10 day Eastern Canada cruise starting in Montreal and ending in New York City. The first 3 stops were in the province of Quebec. We spent a day in Quebec City, free from the leash of guided tours as we just decided to strike out on our own. FYI, the French Canadians are not very friendly and welcoming of American tourists. Most pretend that they don't understand English and with rare exceptions are not very helpful. We had a great time in Saguenay, taking a zodiac boat ride up the Saguenay River. The fall foliage was at its peak and the scenery was amazing (despite the cold). We also got to go on a "nature walk" through a national park (see photo above) to see more leaves turning bright colors. On our last stop in Quebec, in Baie-Comeau, it rained all day so we just had to stay on the ship. The exchange rate with the Canadian dollar is not favorable to us, so prices of goods and services were much higher. For us, this was a one and done trip. The scenery was nice, but not worth the other aggravation and the haughty residents.
